Minolie Govender is the creator behind this offer. She has a background in Coaching Psychology, is currently completing her Masters degree at the University of Sydney and pursuing ACC accreditation through the International Coaching Federation.

The offer is based on Minolie’s own mental health journey combining clinical psychology with yoga philosophy and meditation, as well as her background studying the human body in exercise physiology and experience working in public health policy for the last ten years. This taught her what’s needed and what actually works in the mental health space.

Outside of the Coaching Psychology realm, catch Minolie chasing adventure or writing poetry about it.

I was born in South Africa to parents of Indian heritage, but grew up in Australia and followed the very traditional path of a migrant kid - I made school and uni my life and always aimed for what I thought I should be. This was often based on what made my parents happy and what I needed to feel like I fit in.

It took an astronomic wave of change in the form of a rock-bottom hitting burnout experience as a management consultant, combined with a relationship ending and unexpectedly moving home - all at the same time - for me to realise that I wasn’t really enjoying my life. This was really hard to accept at first. I was doing well at everything that was expected of me, but also the decisions I made were based on stubborn patterns of thinking that formed when I was a little kid… and really hard to rewire.

I had a really tough inner voice, that got me places, but not where I belonged. The voice guided me to do things it had learnt I should, not what I actually wanted to do. I also had to learn how to communicate my needs, as I often would put the needs of others first at the expense of my own self-respect, showing little compassion to myself.

Since listening to myself and letting that guide what I want, I found my tribe and  realised that I am actually a really sensitive person who feels all the feels. Whilst at times this can make for an interesting experience, I have never experienced joy in my life like I do now. I also realised there are a tonne of experiences and a version of me waiting to be discovered.

I’ve learnt to see my experience as my superpower. My journey led me to understand that I am the gatekeeper and regulator of my thoughts and this ultimately controls my experiences. Whilst I am still on a path of discovery, my hope is to share my experiences in a way where change is obvious and accessible to all.

My vision is to shake things up in early intervention mental health care so a generation of people can have a better relationship with themselves
